Just a quick note to give you an update of what we learned today. Dr. Pal said the tests they were waiting on were inconclusive as to the origin of the cancer. It's still there, still needs to be treated but we probably won't ever know where it started.
Gavin will start chemo on Jan. 8th and will continue it on the 9th and 10th. The chemo will run in 21 day cycles with the first 3 days being the chemo and the rest of the time being recovery. During the rest of the time he will go in for lab work to check his blood cell counts. After the first 2 cycles they will do another CT scan to see if the chemo is effective. At that time they will either decide to continue the same regimen or change it up if need be. The rest of this week and through Thursday of next week will be finishing up radiation.
After the anxiety of last week's visit, this week was very calm. We definitely felt all of your prayers and God gave us a lot of peace this afternoon. We are ready for the battle...bring it on!
Love,
Maria and Gavin

The words of Paul come to mind in Ephesians 6:10-11 "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes." We are all using the sword of the spirit to pray for you all right now. I think your attitude and spirit are wonderful, and I am not surprised you are ready to fight ;-) We will stand beside you; always know you are not alone. Love you guys so much! - Rob and Jen Moore
How awesome that you could feel all of the prayers as you went through another valley yesterday .Our God is an AWESOME GOD . It warms my heart greatly to see Him hold you and Gavin so close to him . I've already claimed the victory in my prayer for Gavins health .Have an awesome weekend.
