For many weeks now we have thought the cat(s) and dog were in cohorts but didn't have any type of proof. We would come home to find the dog had eaten something that there was no possible way he could have got down from the counter. The only conclusion was that one of the cats was knocking stuff off of the counter for the dog. I don't believe this was an altruistic move on the cat's part. I believe that the cat (and I think it was Pixle) was doing this because he enjoyed watching Dakota get into trouble when we got home!
This morning I believe I have indisputable proof. Gavin was sent home from his surgery with ice/gel packs and a wrap that he can insert these in and velcro around his head. He used this type of wrap in July and it worked so well to reduce swelling. Last night I placed the wrap on the counter next to the fridge so it would be handy to grab in the morning. It's a white wrap, the counters are white, and it is not a huge piece of material. There is no way that Dakota could have grabbed it off of the counter or even known it was there. Yet this morning, Gavin found it on the floor all chewed up. Needless to say, the dog is in the doghouse as well as Pixle.
There is good news from all of this. Last Monday, while at Dr. Sharma's office, we ran into a friend, Lisa Kohler, and her daughter Katie. Katie had her wisdom teeth pulled the week before. I truly believe it was a God-thing that we ran into them. Katie had used the exact same type of wrap so I was able to borrow hers for Gavin to use! Many, many heartfelt thanks go out to the Kohlers for the use of the wrap. We definitely owe you one!
Love and blessings to all!
