Just a quick update to let you know that the surgery went very well. Instead of just 1 piece of dead bone, the doc found 4 small pieces. Great news is that there isn't any issue with the jaw bone itself and he expects Gavin's mouth to heal fully.
Most of you don't know, but this was not a good pain management week for Gavin. The switching up of meds have really not worked as ideally as we had hoped for. The bonus for being knocked out for surgery is that it has allowed Gavin a few hours of pain relief. Pray that we can get all of this figured out with Dr. Pal on Monday morning.
Thank you and thank you to Norma and Dana for sitting with me today. It definitely helped the time pass by more enjoyably and kept most worrisome thoughts from my head.
And just to give you a heads up...worst day post-op for Gavin will most likely be Sunday so we will not be at church. Just didn't want you worrying that there was something majorly wrong!
