Well Uncle Phil's Diner is over! It was so much fun and everyone did such a fabulous job but it's nice to have my life back! I hope everyone who came enjoyed it because I know all of the participants had a wonderful experience.
Gavin had the 2nd day of the 2nd round of chemo last Thursday. He felt pretty good all weekend thankfully. He crashed pretty hard on Tuesday with fatigue and nausea being the culprits. I think it was partly due to the chemo treatment and partly to do with pushing himself so hard throughout the weekend. He goes in for the 3rd treatment tomorrow and then will have a CT scan before the next appointment, 2 weeks from now.
He has had a little bit of pain in his left hip but an x-ray showed that there was just a little fluid build-up and nothing to be concerned about right now. Once again, he has been standing around a lot more these past few weeks due to Uncle Phil's rehearsals and shows so perhaps that was a contributer.
I am picking-up Mackenzie from the 5th grade class trip to Camp Thunderbird today. I expect she had a great, if not cold, time. I'm crossing my fingers that she comes back with all of her gear and without the sniffles. Drew is going to Washington, NC for a theater contest on Saturday. It will be a very long day for him. Austin has joined the pep band at Community House. I think he is having a good time playing more "fun" songs on his trumpet.
The kids are getting geared up for Halloween this Friday. Mackenzie and Austin are both going as gangsters, her costume has a pink pinstripe and his has a white one. I am praying that it is a little warmer that night, although I plan on sitting around the firepits in the cul-de-sac! Drew is going to the "big" game that night between Ardrey Kell and South Meck. I'm also praying for safe driving that night.
Oh, and I almost forgot to recognize what today is...Happy Birthday Dakota! Our beautiful, sweet sheltie is 2 today!
Have a blessed week!
Maria
