The title says it all! It is the week of the church musical, Uncle Phil's Diner, and I expect it to be crazy busy and hectic. The goal this week is to try and encourage Gavin to pace himself so that he can last through all of the rehearsals and the shows next weekend. I know he is really enjoying being part of the show and very thankful that his symptoms have been such to allow him to participate. He even gets to do the hand jive!
The first treatment of the 2nd rounds went according to plan. Gavin has seemed a little bit more sick to his stomach at times during the weekend but not overly so. We didn't meet with Dr. Pal like we usually do because he was out being a new dad! He and his wife had a baby girl last Wednesday, their first! I can't wait to see him next week to get all of the details and to see how he is managing on no sleep! It also means I can go buy something really cute, really little, and really girly as a baby gift!
This week besides Uncle Phil's, Gavin meets with Dr. Sharma on Wednesday to check on his mouth infection and has chemo on Thursday. His mom is also coming to town to visit with us and see the show. She lands on Wed. and leaves the following Monday.
Unless something out-of-the-ordinary happens, I don't expect to update this until after the show. So let's just say I will talk to you next week!
Thank you to all of you who expressed your sympathies to me today on the death of my grandmother. You all are very sweet. She has suffered from Alzheimers for about 9-10 years now and has really not known us for the last few years. I feel very much at peace that she is in a much better place now. In fact, I'm sure the rose gardens in heaven are blooming extra special now that she's up there tending to them!
Special thanks to the Devoid, S. Brown, J. Gillespie, and Broerman family for the tasty meals. Also thanks to Christy for the giftcard to Showmars, one of our favorites! The meals have been greatly appreciated and enjoyed the last few months. We have decided that since things have calmed down now, we are going to cut back on the meals being delivered for now. I have every confidence that when Jen thinks we need them again, she will start scheduling them! Love ya Jen! Again, thanks for getting us through a tough time period.
See you when I'm back from the '50s!
Love and blessings,
Maria
